Patients travelling outside Northern Ireland for treatment

If you wish to receive medical treatment outside Northern Ireland, it’s important to understand how it works and the assistance you may be able to access.

This guidance applies to patients who are travelling outside Northern Ireland to access healthcare assessment and/or treatment. It is not relevant for travel within Northern Ireland for health and social care services

The practice is closed one afternoon a month for staff  training. .This usually falls on a Wednesday or Thursday afternoon.  The Out of hours service covers the the practice for any urgent medical matters during this time..

The practice advertises the date of closure in the reception area and notice boards.

There are also occasions when the Practice needs to close for staff and doctor training. This is organised by the Health & Social Care Board. We will be closed from 1pm on the following dates:

Thursday 31st March 2022

Wednesday 18th MAy 2022

Emergency medical cover will be provided during Practice closures by the local Out of Hours organisation or Practice GP
